Artist Jean Pierre Got

Born in 1951 in Bergerac in Southwest France, Jean-Pierre Got paints advertising posters in the Belle-Epoque, Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles.
With an underlying theme of joie de vivre, his portfolio of work ranges from high-spirited, joyful subject matter to more tender, heart-warming portrayals.
His commercial posters give the products themselves the image of a by-gone era and evoke in the viewer a reassuring nostalgia.
Using a traditional poster technique, illustration and text are both hand painted in gouache enhanced by pastel & charcoal crayons.
"Through my work I wish to pay homage to the great French posterists who invented the art a hundred and fifty years ago", he explains.
Jean-Pierre Got has designed more than 150 "vintage-style" poster ads, mainly for vineyards, wine events and brands from several countries.
